Six Ways to Protect Your Mobile Device

Here’s the reality: Mobile security threats have grown 350 percent since 2010; 20 percent of Americans with smartphones have already been subject to mobile cybercrime; and every 3.5 seconds someone in the U.S. loses their cellphone, exposing themself to identity and data theft.

To address these growing security threats, Xfinity Internet customers can download—for no additional charge—Constant Guard Mobile. The app helps prevent online threats, such as phishing attempts, identity theft and accidental connection to fraudulent websites while browsing, shopping and banking online. The app is now available on iOS devices and will be available to Android users in June.

In addition to Constant Guard Mobile, here are five more easy steps you can take now:

  1. Use password protected access controls
  2. Control wireless network and service connectivity
  3. Back up your data
  4. Delete any personal financial data stored on your device
  5. Beware of free apps
