On March 10, 2013, six teenagers were killed and two people were injured when the SUV they were in crashed, according to CNN. Sunday, authorities released the names of the deceased.
The Honda Passport hit a guardrail, turned over, and then ended up in a pond in northeastern Ohio, Lt. Anne Ralston of the Ohio Dept. of Public Safety told the major media outlet.
One of the victims was ejected during the accident and was discovered under the vehicle, while the other five were found inside the SUV when it was taken out of the water, reports CNN.
The two who survived the accident called 911 from a home nearby the crash site.
The young people killed were between the ages of 14 and 19. They were identified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol as Andrique Bennett, 14; Kirklan M. Behner, 15; Daylan Ray, 15; Ramone M. White, 15; Brandon A. Murray, 17; and Alexis Cayson, 19.
WKBN reports that the SUV was likely overloaded and no one was wearing a seat belt.
A makeshift memorial, including teddy bears has been created near the guardrail where the crash took place, according to CNN.
