Six dogs rescued from Michael Vick's dog fighting ring reunite at Best Friends

Back in 2008, shortly after Michael Vick's Bad Newz Kennels fighting ring was busted by local, state, and federal government officials, 47 confiscated dogs needed somewhere to go.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah stepped up to take 22 of the dogs for rehabilitation, recovery and adoption. These dogs were given a key to freedom and the new experience of actually being loved and cared for by people.

Six dogs who have since gone to their forever homes, adopted from Best Friends, met up again on Monday, March 11, 2013 for a reunion. *Please watch the Youtube video made by Best Friends on the reunion day, on the lower left side of the page. These dogs are in loving homes now and everyone involved with their rescue , who could be there, came to hear the positive updates for what was once such a dark situation. The dogs are now referred to as the Vicktory dogs.

Read one of my other articles "Books to inspire the rescuer at heart" which includes a video news interview on Fox news Salt Lake City, with one of Best Friend's staff who was involved with the Vicktory dogs. The interview debuted when the book "The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption", written by Jim Gorant, was released a few years ago. Buy the book on Kindle or paperback.
