Sister Sin-Now and Forever CD Review

Gothenburg, Sweden - Any preconceived thought you had of what Swedish music is like is going to be turned around by this band .One word comes to mind , impressed , thats what I was when I heard this disk .Formed in 2002 and fronted by female singer, Liv Jagrell this is one band that has paid their dues and is a force to be reckoned with . Their current release is titled "Now and Forever " and is available from Victory Records . The track " End of the Line " starts fast and furious and doesn’t stop until it has proved it is pure rock meets metal , with great musicianship and guitar solo by Jimmy Hitula . Next is " Fight Song " with the great opening line " Fukc You, Fukt Them and Fukt The World Too" I mean who hasn’t felt that way about a boss , coworker or even a spouse , by the way I misspelled that on purpose . The driving drums of Dave Sundberg on " In It For Life " creates a great back line for this song , which is about the different choices we make and how we stick to them . Strandh starts the next song " Hearts Of Cold " with a short but creative bass line. One of the best things about this album is begs to sing along with the chorus on just about every song .” The Chosen Few? “ begs the to ask the question , be true to your self and Sister Sin and true to themselves ."Hang Em High" is no love song , actually that’s quote from singer Liv in the song, a cool track with some great riffs . I am starting to get a sense of a central theme for this record , " I’m Not You " has some unexpected changes in the song with a great bridge . Up next is " Running Low " which Liv’s vocals wrap around the lyrics to create a unique melody ." Shades of Black " continues the audio assault followed by somber " Morning After " with some great piano work with a sensitive message .
