Sister Hazel will be rocking the historic Howard Theatre on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The band came together in Gainesville, Florida and has been putting out Southern flavored alternative rock for over 15 years. They are touring in support of their latest album released last year called “Release.”
Sister Hazel’s most successful single was “All For You” off the album “Somewhere More Familiar.” The song hit number one on the Hot Adult Top 40 Chart. Through the years the band has had seven songs hit that top 40 list. Their other top ten hit was “Change Your Mind” which topped out at number five off the “Fortress” album.
The band features Ken Block on lead vocals and acoustic guitars, Andrew Copeland on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Ryan Newell on lead and slide guitar. Ryan also provides some harmony vocals when needed. Jett Beres plays bass and provides additional harmony vocals and Mark Trojanowski plays the drums. You can learn more about Sister Hazel at their website.
The Howard Theatre offers a full restaurant menu of American food with a Soul influence. They also have some musically named cocktails and other beverages available. Most shows are general admission first come first choice. Doors for this show open at 6 PM and music scheduled to start at 8PM. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of the show. More information on the venue including menus, directions, parking and tickets can be fond at the venue’s website. It should be a fun way to spend a Saturday night.
