The main plot consists of the Vault Hunter arriving in the feral continent of Aegrus under the invitation of Sir Hammerlock, who promises an elated trip of hunting and gentlemanly jests. Of course, this is not to be a quiet journey. No, this big game hunt is interrupted by the "dastardly" professor Nakayama, a man obsessed with Handsome Jack to an almost obscene sense.
In addition to the very entertaining new story line, the add-on boasts several new features such as:
- A multitude of new enemies
- Several new missions
- A new main antagonist
- One new skin and head for each character
- New weapons
- A new vehicle, the fan boat, and 69 skins for it
- Clap Trap and his chaotic antics
- New raid bosses - Voracious the Invincible & Dexiduous the Invincible
- New Seraph Weapons
- Supposedly a higher damage scale with more powerful weapons and more powerful enemies
- Plus so much more
There is so much to explore, and Sir Hammerlock's is actually fun to play. Even for veteran players of level 50, the DLC offers a unique challenge. The new enemies like the Savages, Witch Doctors, Boroks, Spores, and Scaylions offer a new sense of behavior and thus require greater and highly varied set of weapons and strategies.
Using just one weapon through the story line will not work, and a head on attack with relentless pounding on every enemy surely isn't the answer. Tackling the Big Game Hunt requires patience and an ingenuity to work around a challenging enemy.
All of the new experiences in the Big Game Hunt are insanely fun and will offer hours entertainment.
