Joseph Graziose, Senior Vice President for RXR Realty, developers of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Inner Harbor, Baltimore announced today that an independently-owned restaurant Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant has purchased the restaurant space at The Ritz-Carlton Residences.
New to the Baltimore market, Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant, a retail wine market and tapas restaurant, will feature an innovative concept, relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, wide selection of international wines, and chef-driven tapas menu.
Expected to open Labor Day 2014, Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant will offer over 50 wines that may be ordered by the 1 ounce sip, half glass, full glass or bottle. Additionally, an extensive selection of more than 150 wines will be available by the bottle. Sip Wine will feature wines from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, and state wineries including California’s Napa Valley and Willamette Valley in Oregon.
The restaurant will include tapas-style menu items offered for lunch and dinner. Each succulent dish will be paired with a wine suggestion. Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant will boast an open kitchen – which will take center stage at the 5,800 square-foot restaurant – and provide seasonal outdoor dining.
Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant will be located at 801 Key Highway in Building One (located on the north-end of the building) at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Inner Harbor, Baltimore. With restaurant valet parking, guests will appreciate the ease of visiting the downtown destination. The restaurant will feature a bold industrial chic atmosphere highlighted by distressed wood, and a vibrant color scheme that is perfectly complemented by dark wood tones. Guests can enjoy their stay by sitting at the family style tables, cozy booths, or at the accommodating bar. All of which contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere found at Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant.
“Cheers! We are thrilled to welcome Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant to The Ritz-Carlton Residences, offering a new dining experience for our residents, friends and neighborhood locals,” said Joe Graziose, Senior Vice President of RXR Realty. “When deciding on a concept, we knew we wanted a restaurant with sophisticated wine and menu options like no other in the area. We believe the wine selections and mix of flavors Sip’s menu offers, will be an added amenity to The Residences, and will serve as invitation to everyone in the region to come and drink, taste and discover the best new restaurant in Baltimore.”
The concept of the new restaurant will be identical to the Sip Wine located in Milton, Georgia, which was opened in 2007 by Foster and Amy Smith. Just recently, Sip Wine expanded to include Tapas Restaurant & Wine Bar through a partnership with Mark and Ann Jacobs.
“When visiting Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant, guests will enjoy an evening of learning and eating,” says Foster Smith, partner, Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant. “They will be greeted by educated wine connoisseurs who know about every wine on our menu, and offer suggestions on the best ways to enjoy the wine with items on our unique tapas menu. We are anxious to share our brand with the Baltimore market, and encourage everyone to raise a glass to our new restaurant.”
Sip Wine Shop & Restaurant is one of the many amenities offered at The Ritz-Carlton Residences. Additional amenities offered include 24-hour doorman, concierge and porter, valet parking, a full-service fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a full-service spa, rooms for social activities, a 22-slip marina, and an exclusive screening room.
