In past columns, I have covered and encouraged anti-Valentine’s Day events for those without a lover this season. But this year we are going to look at it in a different light and see what I can come up with for singles in the city in 2013. Look at it this way, you can meet like-minded people, have fun and maybe make a new friend!

This seems to be all the rage this year. Having a few single friends over for dinner with your coupled friends will certainly keep everyone entertained. Or better yet, throw yourself or someone you love a bring a friend party. Remember someone else’s trash is someone else’s treasure.

Hang out with your best friends, family, pet, coworkers or even a random stranger and take pictures in front of Love Park. Because not every form of love has to be the romantic kind, you can still find happiness in the little things. Silly string helps too.
