Singles can still have fun in NYC on Valentines Day

Cupid always forgets to shoot his arrows in some people's direction, which leaves many still single for Valentines Day. No reason to sit at home though. There's still plenty to do for singles on Valentines Day in New York City!

Maybe on February 13, the day before Valentines Day, an unlucky phone call or text message was received. Your real life status and Facebook relationship status is now listed as single. Go out and laugh about it with other singles who may or may not have gone through the same thing at The Rejection Show at Littlefield in Brooklyn on February 14, 2014. Comedians like Dave Hill, Elna Baker, and Eliot Glazer will be able to help anyone laugh off the sting from rejection at least for a little bit.

Have a night out at the Cocktail Cupid Valentines singles party and pick someone to buy a drink for. Not only that, but have someone deliver it to that person. Never know what can happen after that first drink!

For a more flirty Valentines Day with the hopes of possibly meeting someone in speed dating, head over to Joe's Pub for Never Sleep Alone. Sexual psychologist and music therapist Dr. Alex Schiller will tell jokes, sing songs, and read a little from her new book Get Laid or Die Trying. Plan on at least attempting to meet someone during speed dating while here or the ticket will actually cost more to get in.

Not every person has another to give his heart to. But he has a heart nonetheless. Open it for a good cause and get out of the house at the same time. Go to the Valentine's Day Singles Party benefiting Bideawee Animal Rescue. Fifty percent of event proceeds go to help the the animal rescue. The happiness of the animals will out live any flowers bought for a human on Valentines Day anyways!

When all else fails and paying cover is not a desirable option for the night, go to a bar that is least likely to have couples smooching all night. Beer and shot deals are everywhere in New York City, but the most appealing is Rudy's Bar and Grill in midtown. Their famous beer, shot, and a hot dog deal for five dollars has been a staple for years for New Yorkers and tourists in the know or who happen to stumble in.

Don't let Cupid's poor aim stop a good time spent on Valentines Day. What are some other fun things that you've done on Valentines Day when single?
