Keystone Resort in Summit County, Colo., plans to host its second-annual “Love on the Lifts” speed-dating event on Friday. The Valentine’s Day program from 10 a.m. to noon gives singles a chance for a series of 11-minute speed dates during the lift ride on the River Run Gondola.
The match-making activity starts in where else but the “singles line” at the base of the River Run Gondola. Other than the need for a lift ticket or pass, the event itself is free. Singles can reconnect for après-ski Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the Valentine’s Party held at 9280’ Tap House restaurant in River Run Village.
Keystone is also in the midst of its annual “Savor the Slopes” February showcase of the resort’s restaurants. Friday’s event is scheduled to be a French wine tasting at Keystone Ranch. Reservations for any of the $25 tastings may be made by calling 970-496-4386.
Apart from potential romance, excellent skiing should be certain at the ski area. As of Tuesday, the resort reported 28 inches of new snow in the previous seven days. A chance of additional snow is forecast during the coming week. All 3,148 skiable acres were open with a base snow depth of 67 inches.
