Whitney Houston, one of the top-selling artists in pop music history, has died. She was only 48.
Early reports are that music producer Clive Davis found Houston in her Beverly Hills hotel room. She was to be a guest and performer at his Grammy eve party.
Whitney Houston has had a public battle with drugs and alcohol and was once quoted at saying "crack is whack." Cause of death has not been determined.
Houston was born August 9, 1963 to a family of singers, including her mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dionne Warwick and the late Dee Dee Warwick. She was discovered by Clive Davis while performing with her family in night clubs.
In 1992, Houston married R&B singer Bobby Brown. In 1993, she gave birth to her one and only child, daughter Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown.
