Singer Tal Yardeni
"A Night of Florence and the Machine"

Singer Tal Yardeni is about to rock Broadway bringing “A Night of Florence and the Machine” to the supper club scene at 54 Below on April 28th.

Hailed as ‘a voice on the rise’ and ‘one to watch’, Tal will bring her theatrically trained voice to fresh arrangements of one of rock’s most renowned bands, Florence and the Machine, for what will surely be a night of pure groupie fun.

Although this marks her debut at 54 Below, Tal has been part of the musical theater scene for some time. She has appeared in a variety of roles, including Dolly Levi in “Hello, Dolly!” and Meredith in “Bat Boy”, both Off-Broadway and at the American Theatre of Actors, The Duplex, The New Ohio Theatre and various venues around the country.

The Israeli-born singer and actress who grew up in Florida’s Key West, has trained at Florida State University, New York University and at the University of Central Florida, where she earned a degree in Theatre.

We recently caught up with Tal Yardeni to find out more about her upcoming show and more.

Tell us about your upcoming show “A Night of Florence and the Machine” at 54 Below.

TAL: It's going to be a rocking night of rocking out and celebrating this band's music. I'm bringing a theatricality to it by infusing the night with special guests that are known in the Broadway community.

What made you want to focus on the music of Florence and the Machine?

TAL: I knew that I wanted to do a concert so I started brainstorming musicians and songs that I love and I saw a recurring theme....Florence and the Machine! Her music is so varied, and really does cover a variety of genres. So I thought, well maybe I should just focus on their music and explore the arrangements and keys and see how I can bring myself to this music.

Do you have a favorite from their catalog…and why that song?

TAL: Ahhhh so many!!! I would probably say "Drumming Song"....the lyrics that she writes are poetic and metaphorical and so this song really resonates with me. It's about being overcome by something so powerful and then just basking in it.

Can you share any surprises you’ve got planned for the evening?

TAL: Well I don't want to give too much away but let's just say that there is a mashup that is happening during the night that will be completely unexpected and is going to blow the audience away. In order to find out more, you have to come and enjoy it!

Are there any other bands or singers that have influenced your work?

TAL: Oh man!!! Well I grew up listening to Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Sade, Boy George, Whitney, Mariah, Donna Summer....but I also love Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald. I grew up in a middle eastern and hispanic home so the music was all over the place from Israeli tunes, to salsa, to disco. So I think I got a nice mix growing up. And of course Babs! She is my idol!! Could you get her to come? J/K. No but really...

Anything else on the horizon that you can share with us?

TAL: Nothing set in stone that I can reveal just yet but as far as what the idea behind doing this concert is that I can continue to do these types of concerts where I introduce the audience to singers/bands that resonate with me and they get to explore the music with me.

How can your fans keep up with your career?

TAL: Follow me on twitter at You can find out all about what I am up to in my everyday life and bacon (it's another passion of mine).

Thanks, Tal! Can’t wait to see Broadway rockin’!
