This award winning singer/ multi-character Tribute artist will be performing her “Tribute to Natalie Cole”, in Taveres, Florida on Friday February 8th.
Recently Mitchell had the chance to see her alter ego Natalie Cole in concert. Carlene was front row and center to see Cole at the Mahaffey Theater, St Peterburg, Florida. Before heading to the venue she made attempts to meet the star by contacting the venue and even meeting up with Coles security people.
“I met with security, and they did manage to hand deliver my promo package to her which I prepared for her, along with a letter that I wrote letting her know that I am a Natalie Impersonator, and that she was deeply in my prayers during the time of her kidney transplant.” ~ Carlene Mitchell
Mitchell says “I also wrote that I would like to meet her after the show.” Unfortunately the meeting between Ms Cole and Carlene was not to be said Mitchell. She adds that she was “able to get a word or two into her Musical Director” and “waited patiently for security to say it was okay to go in... unfortunately for me, they reached their cap of the number of people allowed in the room, and I was unable to meet her”. But the always effervescent Mitchell says “I am hopeful that I will one day.” She adds that “Seeing her live has given me new inspiration towards the way I perform as Natalie”. Mitchell is also know for her incredible "Dreamgirls Tribute", as well as her tributes music greats such Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and the late Whitney Houston.
