Former Spartan basketball player Shannon Brown proposed to his girlfriend, R&B singer Monica with an enticing ten-karat diamond ring. Monica Tweeted pictures of her new rock confirming the couple's engagement.
Shannon and Monica met during filming of Monica's Love All Over Me video last June, and began dating immediately afterwards.
Monica says that she and her fiancée "want the same things, a family and to settle down."
Many say the couple is moving too fast, but Monica dismisses their opinions.
We realize that people will have their opinions. That's the way of the world. But we know who we are & who's we are. We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether. And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporters who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u & I'm realistic enough about life to know my journey has just begun. I don't have anything else to say about it 2 people who judge. If you worked on self u wouldn't even see me.

I'm sure she knows enough about herself, and what she wants; but beside having confidence that he wants the same things, I think Monica should give it a little more time to get to know a man. Doing so after a video shoot is not enough time to do that. Plus he's in the NBA.
I saw why wait. If you both want the same things, why should a time limit be put on love? I met my husband in Feb, committed to a serious relationship in May, got engaged in August & we got married in May. We will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in 7 months.
