“Milkshake” singer Kelis had had about enough of PETA, and she wasn’t afraid to let the animal rights organization know it.
In a letter posted to her MySpace page Thursday, Kelis – ex-wife of rapper Nas and the mother of their infant son, Knight – minced not one word responding to PETA’s recent reprimand admonishing her for wearing fur in recent photographs while in London over the weekend.
Obviously not one to take things lightly, as evidenced by shrewd moves in her own divorce proceedings, the outspoken singer blasted PETA for its rampant fanaticism, called President Ingrid Newkirk “completely batty,” and claimed the organization was responsible for the “death of high fashion.” Oh, and she also said she “would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious.”
The letter is either dead-on hilarious or incredibly insensitive, depending on which side of the fence you fall regarding PETA’s mission and tactics, but you can find it in its entirety here.
