The Castro Theatre brings back the sing along experience of Disney’s much beloved BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. From March 30 through April 6, 2014, fans are invited to don their best Belle, Beast, and Gaston-inspired costumes and warm up their vocal chords to participate in the Castro Theatre’s sing along tradition.
We all know and love this magical animated film that tells the romantic “tale as old as time,” but this time, SING ALONG BEAUTY AND THE BEAST takes the charming and heartfelt musical to another level: This special screening of the modern classic is complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along — to “Be Our Guest,” “Belle,” “Gaston,” and all of the songs of the Oscar-winning film.
Hosted by Laurie Bushman and friends, the interactive event includes event-themed goody bags to get the audience in the spirit of cheering on bright, beautiful Belle and her adventures. Movie-goers are encouraged to add to the fun by dressing up as their favorite character from the film, and can compete to win prizes in the costume contest. Family-friendly afternoon shows will feature kids in costume on parade.
Each show will be preceded by a 30-minute concert of Disney musical favorites featuring Castro organist David Hegarty on the Castro’s Mighty Wurlitzer.
