The celebrity feud between Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus is heating up. On October 4, New York Daily News reported that Sinead O'Connor has responded via her Facebook page to Miley Cyrus' very personal digs at the 90's pop star via Twitter. It looks like Miley did not appreciate Sinead's comments about pimping herself out to the media and lashed back regarding Sinead's mental health.
An excerpt from O'Connor's Facebook post reads, "Ms Cyrus has today posted tweets of mine which are two years old and which were sent when I was ill and seeking medical help. She has done this in an attempt to deliberately cause me harm and hurt. I wish to confirm that I am quite well and kindly request people cease e mailing me in the mistaken belief these are recent tweets.[sic]" She went on to say that her lawyers would contact Miley's lawyers. Apparently she believes some sort of legal action is necessary concerned Miley's reposting of Sinead's old tweets.
Sinead O'Connor posted to her Facebook page again today about Miley Cyrus, this time condemning her for poking fun at those with mental illness. Miley compared her to Amanda Bynes, who is currently seeking help for her much-publicized recent mental issues. O'Connor goes on to say that she did not deserve Miley's "abuse." Now, Miley may have stooped low in showing her anger over Sinead's previous comments about pimping herself out to make money, but none of this would have occurred at all, had she left Miley alone.
The entire feud between Sinead and Miley began when Miley told The Rolling Stone that parts of her "Wrecking Ball" video were inspired by O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" video from the 90's. In response, O'Connor penned an open letter to the former Hannah Montana star. In what appeared to be a concerned and as she put it "motherly" way, O'Connor told Miley to keep her clothes on. “You have enough talent that you don’t need to let the music business make a prostitute of you,” wrote O'Connor. That letter was not well received though and then the feuding began.
