Sinatra still swings in Spain

When travelers head to Barcelona, they make sure to see La Sagrada Familia, the works of the quirky architect Gaudi, or stroll on La Rambla. Those sights are fine and are not to be missed, but if you want great food in the Catalan city, you must go to Sinatra.

The restaurant is located in a side street just about a block away from La Rambla. As you enter the sleek New York-esque establishment, the smooth sounds of Sinatra’s pipes enter your ears. An old time movie will most likely be playing from the projector on the back wall. As you sit down in the intimate setting, you’ll be greeted with a free glass of champagne. Don’t get too excited, it isn’t fine champagne, but hey, it’s free!

You don’t come for the champagne anyway. You come for the food. Start off with Tapas. There is a diverse selection of ingredients. From caramelized pears with Bavaria Blue cheese to Galician-style octopus, there’ll be a flavor for anyone. Don’t fill up too much on the tapas. There are selections in the form of salads, cold starters, seafood paella, fish, meat, and homemade desserts.

If you enjoy good poultry, make sure to look in the meat section. You will find: Chicken thigh stuffed with buffalo mozzarella, bacon, and basil, accompanied with aubergines and tomatoes au gratin. To start, the chicken is plump, smooth, flavorful, and juicy. Then, the mix of the mozzarella, bacon, and basil delight your tongue with the assortment of tastes. Accompanied with a glass of wine, this may very well be the best meal experience in Barcelona, if not Europe.
