Word from our friends in Palm Springs: Good news... the Palm Springs Historic Site Preservation Board unanimously approved a recommendation at Tuesday's meeting to give Class 1 historic status to the Frank Sinatra home in Palm Springs.
The Twin Palms Estate, located at 1145 Via Colusa, was built in 1947. The 4,500 square foot, 4-bedroom home features two Cabanas with full bathrooms and Sinatra's original recording studio.
The estate was designed by Stewart Williams for Sinatra and his first wife Nancy Barbato. It has played host to numerous celebrities including Bob Hope, Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner, Jimmy Van Heusen and Phil Sivers.
The final word rests with the Palm Springs City Council. They are expected to discuss approval of the recommendation within the next two meetings.
