Simple salsa

WBP_salsa.JPG

Everyone loves salsa, especially with their favorite tortilla chips. While salsa is readily available, it isn’t too hard to make at home – especially with a little help.

The Women’s Bean Project is a non-profit organization helping women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment. Job skills are taught through employment in their gourmet food production business. The women make a variety of food products, including bean soups, chili, baked goods, dips and salsas.

There are four salsas you can make: Original, Original Hot, Southwest and Green Chili. The packages include directions and simple recipes to follow. In making the Original salsa, you can combine a can of tomatoes with the seasoning mix in a blender – quick and easy. You can also dice fresh tomatoes and mix your preferred amount of seasonings. Feel free to add in jalapenos, onions, cilantro – any of your favorite salsa ingredients.

The salsas taste great and when purchasing one of the products from the Women’s Bean Project you can feel great too!

Eat and enjoy!
