One: Balancing the budget is easy, with perhaps a little political courage to do what's right. It can be done in three simple steps: Immediately revert back to year 2007 spending levels to eliminate the Obama over-spending that was built into the federal budget, then freeze all non-defense funding in the budget until the deficit is turned once again to a surplus, after which the budget must be balanced and may never in any fiscal year grow more than the previous year's consumer price index measure of inflation. Also, reform the federal budget process by eliminating base-line budgeting. Every dollar of spending must be justified every year, or not funded.
Two: Congress shall make no law that doesn't equally apply to them as it does to American citizens, and any laws they enact that applies to American citizens and businesses shall also apply to members of Congress likewise.
Three: Dr. Ben Carson showed that real health care reform is also easy. As he said, every citizen born should be a birth certificate, electronic health records, and a medical savings account. Nearly all medical expenses can be funded via medical savings accounts and catastrophic health coverage for the major medical expenses. This would cover all, reduce costs, support a true free market in healthcare while allowing for freedom and consumer choices in healthcare.
Four: Return to an America-First foreign policy. We don't worry about being politically correct or offending those who are already our sworn enemies.
Five: Energy independence and one dollar gasoline can both be reality. We can drill from our massive abundance of oil, build more refineries, and our oil production can cause the price of a barrel of oil to fall to record lows. Then we stop buying oil from countries that hate us when we drill and refine enough of our own to provide for our needs. Then watch that price at the pump fall to one dollar per gallon for gasoline.
Six: Stand up for American values and say no to political correctness. Reassert freedom of speech and defy those who say “you can't say that because it's not politically correct.”
Seven: Stopping gun violence and protecting gun rights at the same time is easy. Instant electronic background checks, and having the right information available for those checks, prevents the dangerous and psychotic from getting guns while law-abiding citizens can get them. So-called “assault” rifles and extended magazines don't kill anyone, just the wrong people accessing them does. Target the criminals, not firearms and magazines.
Eight: Reform the election system so there is no vote fraud or vote suppression or any attempts by either political party to game the system. Require voter identification so only citizens vote and vote once, and set up a national voter registration database to insure every votes in federal elections just once and only in one state. Eliminate same-day voter registration which is only an open invitation for voter fraud.
Nine: Educational reform is really simple and easy too. The government schools have a near monopoly over K-12 education and they continue to fail across the board. Give parents the choice. Newt Gingrich has suggested a Pell Grant program for K-12 education that would allow tax dollars now spend in failed government schools to be re-allocated by parental choice to a private or other school of their choice. It's a disgrace that lower income minority families in our inner cities are locked into the worst government-run schools in the country. If Republicans presided over and ran those inner-city schools (which are run by Democrats), the left would call them racist.
Ten: Social issues like abortion, same-sex marriage, and marijuana legalization should be decided as much as possible at the state level. Individuals state can and should decide their own laws on these issues.
