Simon Youth Foundation Offers College Scholarships: Deadline January 11

For the 14th consecutive year, Simon Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit, will award a college scholarship to one student from every community that is included in Simon property. Applicants must submit their applications by Saturday, January 11 to be considered.

Eligible students are those graduating in the 2014 class and living within 50 miles of an eligible Simon property. Simon Malls include King of Prussia, Montgomery, Oxford Valley, Lehigh Valley, and Quaker Bridge.

Scholarship Management Services will be the third-party administrator to select the SYF Community Scholarship recipients.

Scholarship awardees are chosen based on various criteria including:

  • Financial need
  • Academic performance
  • Leadership skills
  • Participation in school and community activities
  • Students first in their family to pursue a higher-education degree

Michael Durnil, Ph.D., the President and CEO of SYF comments that the non-profit’s mission is, “To ignite hope for a brighter future in students, and our Foundation is proud to partner with Simon Mallsto award scholarships that will remove some of the financial obstacles that would otherwise prevent a student from achieving the dream of a college education.”

To apply, students can pick up a scholarship application at each mall’s guest services center or download one at Once completed, applications must be sent to Scholarship Management Services by Saturday, January 11, along with official school transcripts and parents’ filed tax form.
