Simon Cowell is 1 of 10 people who made the “Most Fascinating People” of 2011 list by veteran news icon Barbara Walters.

The NY Times reports that Cowell will be featured on ABC’s. 19th annual Barbara Walters’ “Most Fascinating People” special on Dec. 14th

The 90-minute program will feature other contenders that placed in the top 10, including: Derek Jeter (baseball shortstop for the New York Yankees), American singer/songwriter Katy Perry, scandal-sheet “regulars” the Kardashian family, and ABC’s “Modern Family”stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

Others that made the list include: businessman Donald Trump, royal newlywed Kate Middleton (and her sister Pippa Middleton), as well as Amanda Knox (an American recently freed after being incarcerated in an Italian prison for 4 years).

Typically, Walters’ “Most Fascinating People” specials include short biographies of those on the list, (including the hosts reason for their inclusion on the list), immediately followed by a portion of a recent interview with that “most fascinating” person.

The identity of the final person listed as "most fascinating" will be announced during the show.
