"The X Factor" executive producer Simon Cowell has been nominated for Favorite Villain at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, which will take place March 23 at the University of Southern California's Galen Center in Los Angeles. Nickelodeon (which announced the show's nominations on Feb. 13, 2013) will telecast the show on March 23, 2013, at 8 p.m. EST/PST.
Voting for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards will be open to the public on Nickelodeon's official website, as of Feb. 14, 2013.
Here are the nominees in the Favorite Villain category:
Favorite Villain
- Reed Alexander ("iCarly")
- Simon Cowell ("The X Factor")
- Tom Hiddleston ("The Avengers")
- Julia Roberts ("Mirror Mirror")
Cowell, who is a judge on "The X Factor" U.S., is the only nominee in the category who is not an actor. The other nominees in the category are actors who are nominated for portraying characters in a movie or TV show. Cowell will not be the ceremony since he will be busy in the U.K. with "Britain's Got Talent," another show that he executive produces. He is also a judge on "Britain's Got Talent."
"The X Factor" did not get a 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award nomination for Favorite Reality Show. The nominees in that category are "America's Got Talent" (also executive produced by Cowell), "American Idol," "The Voice" and "Wipeout."
As previously reported, "X Factor" U.K. boy band One Direction has two nominations for the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards: Favorite Music Group and Favorite Song (for "What Makes You Beautiful"). Cowell was One Direction's "X Factor" mentor when he was a judge on "The X Factor" U.K.
After One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010, Cowell signed One Direction to Syco Music, the record company that he co-owns with Sony Music. One Direction has since become the biggest-selling act worldwide to emerge from "The X Factor."
One Direction will not be at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards either because the group is doing two concerts in Birmingham, England, on the same date as the awards show.
A complete list of nominations can be found at the official Nickelodeon website.
