Simon Cowell got a great Valentine's Day surprise, as girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to a baby boy on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 according to news reports.

This is the first child for Cowell, who is the creator for the reality television show X-Factor in both the United States and the UK. Silverman has one other son from her previous marriage to Andrew Silerman, who was once Cowell's best friend.

Silverman went into labor on Friday morning in New York city while Cowell was across the pond in the UK. He immediately hopped a private jet to get back to New York City. Silverman gave birth at 5:45 p.m.

The new baby came into the world weighing 6 lb.s and 7 oz.'s and will carry Cowell's last name. The couple named their new son, Eric, which was said to be named after Cowell's dad.

Cowell and Silverman have been together since the fall of last year. Silverman was married to Andrew Silverman at the time, who filed for divorce. The new couple went public shortly after divorce papers were filed.

Cowell told reporters yesterday that the new baby was "healthy and handsome" and that he did not expect Silverman to be a "single mother." It sounds like wedding bells will be ringing soon.
