The battle between Tamra Barney and her ex-husband, Simon Barney over custody of their kids is heating up. Accusations are running rampant as Simon accuses Tamra from "Real Housewives of Orange County" of neglecting their young kids, but it seems that Simon’s past holds a secret that he doesn't want exposed. According to Radar Online, Simon has a history of domestic violence.Tamra and her son Ryan Vieth aren't keeping quiet this time.

Almost ten years ago, in 1996, police arrested Simon when he brutally assaulted Tamra. He hit her so hard that she had two black eyes and a lip that was busted open.

Ryan, 27, relates the incidents on Facebook when his stepfather Simon attacked his mother not just once, but many times. He said that he he remembers Simon hitting his mother, the damage he inflicted on her face, the fact that he was arrested, and the many times he caused problems between his mother and himself.

A source told Radar Online that after law enforcement arrested Simon, Tamra refused to press charges. Then, in 2010, police arrested Simon again for domestic violence. Tamra called law enforcement when Simon left the house after he threw a plastic retractable leash at her. According to Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Tamra claims the leash was aimed at her head, so she put her hands up to protect herself. The dog leash hit her on the wrist instead.

However, unlike the time when Tamra quietly let Simon have his way, she is fighting back. The lives and well-being of their three minor children are at stake. She is no longer a victim of domestic violence. She has remarried and found happiness with a man who does not hit her.
