Simmonds returns to the Flyers lineup (Photos)

A day after saying that he was fine, Philadelphia Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds has returned to the Flyers lineup.

He has missed the past three games with a concussion. But on Friday, he wore a contact jersey, leading many to believe that his return was imminent.

Simmonds is the latest Flyers player to be affected by a concussion. The Flyers lost two players in recent years to concussions that ended their careers.

Chris Pronger and Ian Laperrière had their careers end from concussions while they were on the Flyers. Now, both players work in the Flyers front office.

Due to their previous experience with concussions, the team wanted to make sure he was a 100% before bringing him back. On Thursday, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said Simmonds did not 'feel quite right.'

In the first few minutes, he skated with Claude Giroux and Daniel Briere in the game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

This season, he has played in 8 games, and has scored 2 goals on 18 shots on goal. He also has 3 assists and 5 points.
