This Sunday, October 27, over 150 costumed canines are expected to march in front of an anticipated crowd of around a 1000 onlookers in this year's Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade. Held at Rancho Tapo Community Park (Lemon Park) located at 3700 Avenida Simi in Simi Valley, over forty-five vendors will be on hand serving everything from tacos, hot dogs and hamburgers to a full gamut of dog and pet products and services.
The cost is just $20 for an individual/family and individual dog to march in the parade and $30 for multiple dogs with all proceeds going to the Ventura County K-9 Search and Rescue Team and the Guide Dogs of America.
Last year Simi Valley Mayor Bob Huber and McGruff the Crime Dog led the parade off to a howling start. This year, the sponsors are offering the chance for participants to be a VIP at the front of the parade and have their name announced, all for only a five dollar donation.
The event lasts from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the parade kicking off at 10:00 a.m.
A partial list of sponsors includes: Theresa's Country Feed & Pet Store, The Ventura County Star, Blue Buffalo Foods, Dr. Ron's Animal Hospital, Eukanuba/Iams, Stella & Chewy's, Pro Pac/Earthborn, Canidae, Taste of the Wild, Wellpet, Advantek, Nature's Logic, Breeder's Choice, and Purrfect Accounting.\
