Silver Lake also known as the “Williamsburg of the West” has been a hot bed of indie and alternative bands, artists, authors, poets, comedians, and creative hipsters for years. Considering that this area was also the first site for the Walt Disney Studios in the early 1930’s, it’s not hard to believe that the eclectic and liberal minded flock to this cosmopolitan city.
The time of year has come again for the Silver Lake Jubilee to return, showcasing new performing artists of a diverse nature. It is considered one of the two events in Los Angeles that helped bring about the fame of many well-known bands such as the Silversun Pickups, Jane’s Addiction, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Attendees can expect music performances by bands like Dante vs. Zombies, Very Be Careful, The Black Apples, We Are the World, Love Grenades, The Little Ones, and many others.
