Two top NASCAR Nationwide Series teams will be swapping drivers in 2013, as Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet take sponsorship from Great Clips to JR Motorsports for 28 races for the upcoming, while Danica Patrick will take her 10-race Nationwide Series schedule to Turner Motorsports.
Kahne and Sweet, who split seat time in the #38 Chevrolet for Turner Motorsports in 2012, move to the #5 at JR Motorsports. They’ll join Regan Smith, who will race full-time for JR Motorsports in the #7 Chevrolet, and team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is scheduled to make four Nationwide Series starts in the #88 TaxSlayer Chevrolet, including February at Daytona and March at Las Vegas.
Patrick, who became the highest-finishing woman in points in NASCAR’s history in 2012 with a 10th-place finish in the Nationwide Series, will begin her 10-race stint with GoDaddy.com and Turner Motorsports at Daytona in February; her schedule is also expected to include Talladega and Watkins Glen.
