The Silicon Valley Trivia Challenge, held by the Junior League of San Jose, was a huge success on Saturday, November 6 2010. The Silicon Valley Trivia Challenge was held at Club Auto Sport amid exotic sports cars. The Party Helpers provided the food which featured popular items such as reuban sandwiches and chow mein. The dessert menu was equally appetizing and included samplers from Nothing Bundt Cakes in Los Gatos, Ca.
There was also a raffle which included items such as a pearl necklace from Tiffany & Co., an autographed baseball from “The Beard,” and a gift certificate from Azadeh Couture in Los Gatos who is a large supporter of the Junior League of San Jose.
Spectators and contestants were having such a good time that the wine and beer ran out. Thankfully the League was able to replenish the wine and beer supply in time for dessert and the final round of the Trivia Challenge where the top ten teams competed for first through third place.
There were three rounds of play in the Silicon Valley Trivia Challenge which was emceed by Mike Inouye of NBC who kept the crowd alive with jokes and an engaging presence. The first round had 20 questions. The second round, which included the top 20 teams from round one, had 15 questions. The final round featured the top ten teams and there were 10 questions. The final round was spiced up this year with the addition of the audience lifeline. Contestants were allowed to use an audience lifeline for one question if they were unsure of how to answer a question.
The winners of the Silicon Valley Trivia Challenge were as follows:
Third Place $500 cash, Brittania Arms in Cupertino.
Second Place $1000 cash, “Harker Eagle Eggheads” Harker School
