A Tennessee witness reports watching a silent, low flying triangle-shaped object "with three distinct lights on three corners of the vehicle" while driving just after midnight on June 23, 2011, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness first noticed two bright lights in the distance to the north, but thought that they might be helicopters or stars. But then the lights moved closer.
"As it gradually came nearer I noticed it was a cluster of lights," the witness stated. "The object appeared to have three distinct lights on three corners of the vehicle. It appeared to have red lights and faint pulsating dim lights on the underbelly. I wanted to believe it was an airplane, but it moved like no other vehicle I have seen before."
The object seemed to be too low for an airplane.
"The object appeared to be extremely low for an airplane, and it was completely silent."
No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on June 23, 2011. No images or video were included with the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.
Tennessee is a current UFO ALERT 4 rating, with a higher than average number of UFO sightings nationally. Tennessee had 13 reports in May 2011 - while California had 55 UFO reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

It was about twelve midnight, I was driving easbound, when I noticed two bright lights in the distance off to the North. They appeared as though they were stationary, so I thought they must be helicopters or possibly stars. I didn't think anything of it at first, but I noticed one of the lights was slowly getting closer.
