Silent boomerang UFO drops low over small Michigan town

A Michigan witness at Greenland reported "a large, whitish, boomerang-shaped object in the southern sky that descended quickly in an arc shape into the east" about 5:15 p.m. on January 5, 2013, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside when the object was first noticed.

"I was skiing along the roadside shortly after 5 p.m.," the witness stated. "The sun was not yet down. There were lines of clouds that were pinkish and dark gray. Suddenly I saw a whitish boomerang-shaped object - kind of a cross between a U and a V, which caught my eye because it was a sharp contrast with the gray sky and the clouds."

The object dropped in altitude.

"It quickly descended into the tree line or cloud in an arc shape. It lasted just a few seconds, but the object was very large and in front of the clouds - not like an airplane or jet at all."

The witness was unsure what the object was.

"Hard to say if it was a meteorite - but if it was, it was very large - large enough that I waited to listen to hear if it hit, but there was no sound and it didn't have a trail and didn't streak through the sky. It definitely curved through."

No images or videos were included in the MUFON report, which was filed on January 5, 2013. The above quotes were edited for clarity. Greenland Township is in Ontonagon County, MI, population 870.

January 5, 2013, 5:15 p.m., Greenland, MI - It was a large, whitish boomerang shaped object in the southern sky, that descended quickly in an arc shape into the east. Case 45048.

I was skiing along the road side shortly after 5 p.m. The sun was not yet down, there were lines of clouds that were pinkish and dark grey, suddenly, I saw a whitish boomerang shaped object--kind of a cross between a U and a V, which caught my eye because it was a sharp contrast with the gray sky and the clouds. It quickly descended into the treeline or cloud in an arc shape. It lasted just a few seconds, but the object was very large and in front of the clouds--not like an airplane or jet at all. Hard to say if it was a meteorite--but if it was, it was very large...large enough that I waited to listen to hear if it hit--but there was no sound, and it didn't have a trail, and didn't streak through the sky--it definitely curved through.
