On my bi-monthly trips to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I often eat at Suria KLCC mall's Signatures Food Court. Located right below the world-famous Petronas Towers, Signatures Food Court serves delicious food from cuisines all over the world that also happens to be cheap.
Getting to Signatures Food Court - Situated in the exclusive Suria KLCC mall, Signatures Food Court is easy to get to. Take the train from KL Sentral station and get off at the KLCC station. The train station exits right into the mall and, from there, it's a quick walk through the mall to the center circle. Go up the escalators to Level 2 and, at the top of the escalators is the food court.
Food at Signatures Food Court - If you can't find something you like at Signatures, there's something wrong with you. As you walk around the outer lap of the food court where most of the food stalls are, you'll see Indian, Malay, Chinese, Thai, Lebanese,Japanese, Vietnamese, McDonalds, Subway, pizza, sandwiches, rice dishes, hot dogs, hiros, curries, ice cream, desserts and lots more.
Food at Signatures Food Court goes all the way from typical American bland but delicious to Malaysian spicy and superb. With so many stalls, you can order a burger at one place, spicy fries at another, a Chinese chopped salad at a third stall and mango and sticky rice at a fourth. The choices are so varied, I often walk around for 15 minutes before I make up my mind, as it's hard to choose from the 50 dishes I'm dying to try.
Prices at Signatures - An average meal at Signatures is around 10 ringgit, or about US $3. If you order a set, that often includes a main meal, a side dish and a drink. Not bad for less than the price of a latte in the US.
Today I had a lamb kebab and fries from the kebab stall. Coming with a large Coke, the whole meal (and it was huge) was 12 ringgit, less than $4. Have you ever eaten an enormous (and delicious) amount of food plus a drink in the US for that little money? Because I know I haven't.
Atmosphere at Signatures - Light and bright with floor to ceiling windows, the truly perfect part of Signatures is its view. Situated overlooking the KLCC park and man-made lake, it's a pretty place to eat lunch or dinner and makes you enjoy the food even more.
If you like a choice of loads of different cuisines, good food, a nice location and a cheap price, Signatures Food Court will amaze you. Just be warned, avoid it between 12-1pm as it's absolutely packed with all the mall employees at lunch, plus most of the rest of Kuala Lumpur.
