Time to don those strappy stilettos and six inch slip-ons and join KCWIFT’S second annual Stiletto Run.
The Kansas City Stiletto Run kicks off this Saturday, September 7, at Alamo Drafthouse. Run .05K -- one city block -- to support women in arts and film. This year’s fundraiser benefits a specific Kansas City Women in Film & Television project and community organization, GLOW, Inc.
GLOW (Girls Leading Our World), Inc. is the subject of an upcoming KCWIFT documentary. A mentoring program, GLOW, Inc. focuses on entrepreneurial skills, social development, and leadership building for girls and young women ages 8-24.
The documentary supported by this year’s Stiletto Run will illuminate the hard work this organization pours into the community and the individual lives being positively affected by GLOW, Inc efforts.
KCWIFT President Amber Rapp says, “We are excited that proceeds from the second annual Stiletto Run will be used to produce a documentary film about GLOW, Inc. -- a lesser known non-profit doing big things for young women in KC’s urban area. Funding film is important but supporting this project benefits our community and our future.”
Stiletto Run is an opportunity to pull out your sassiest heels, have a ton of fun, and invest in the future of women in business by supporting young girls today.
Registration closes at 12 a.m. Check-in begins at 10 a.m., Race Heats at 11 a.m. Visit the Stiletto Run official running event website for more information, to register, or learn other ways you can participate.
