Sign up now for school closings and alerts

Day three of the new school year and Baltimore County Schools have decided to close two hours early because of the heat.  Many schools throughout Maryland still do not have air conditioning including many in Baltimore County.

So don't wait until the snow warnings come to sign up for alerts from your local schools.

  • Baltimore County Public Schools.  BCPS recommends using School's Out for free email alerts or texting alerts ($19.95/yr).
  • Howard County Public Schools. HCPS has a free system that allows you to get emails or texts from just the Board of Education (closings) or from your specific school.
  • Anne Arundel County Schools. AACPS recommends School's Out or the Baltimore Sun's free email alert program.
  • Prince George's County also recommends School's Out.

You can always get FREE information on any of the school's websites.  Often schools have automated phone messages that will send out special news and alerts if you opt in and provide a valid phone number.
