Sign up for the annual Jadon’s Hope 5K Bug Run / Walk in Olathe, Kansas (Photos)

Jadon Burks, nicknamed “The BUG”, was diagnosed with the terminal disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) on his 2 month Birthday. Jadon’s Hope was formed to make an impact in the fight against SMA and to help families “Dance in the Rain”.

Jadon’s Hope Foundation strives to promote educational awareness and fund research efforts for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the #1 genetic killer of infants under the age of two, while also providing support for families affected by terminal childhood diseases.

The Inaugural Jadon’s Hope 5K Bug Run/Walk is on a quest to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Join in the fight against SMA and support “The Bug” aka Jadon.

Race Information:

  • April 6th, 2013
  • At Rolling Ridge Elementary, 1500 W. Elm Terrace, Olathe Kansas, 66061
  • Race starts at 8 A.M.
  • Lineup order - 5K Runners, 5K walkers, and then 1 mile walkers.
  • Bitty Bug Run to start after 1 milers finish: approximately 9 A.M.
  • 5K Individual: $30 through April 4th, $35 on Race Day
  • 1 Mile Walk: $20
  • Bitty Bug Run (0 to 5 years old): $10 Running Club Members should sign up through their respective club/school
  • Online Registration closes April 4th at midnight.
  • You may pick up your packet or sign up at Rolling Ridge Elementary (1500 W Elm Terrace, Olathe, Kansas) on Friday, April 5th from 8:30 A.M. to 7 P.M., or Saturday, April 6th from 6 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.
  • Medals will be given to the top 3 winners in each age division for both male and female, as well as to the top 3 overall male and female finishers.

5K/1 Mile Participants will receive a t-shirt with their registration. Bitty Bug Run Participants will receive a cape. Participants can RUN or WALK (or some combination of both) the 5K and there we will also be a 1 mile that will not be timed.
