Sign those animal loving kids up for summer camp at the local SF SPCA

Do you know a child who is absolutely crazy about canines?   Their daydreams have them starring as a dog trainer, a veterinarian or saving the day by rescuing homeless pets?   If so, the summer camp programs offered through the San Francisco SPCA are sure to make them drool.  The programs, which are grouped by age, are suitable for kids who will be entering first through eighth grades as of Fall 2011.

Ten week-long sessions will be offered throughout the summer and there are two different options.  Animal Friends Camp is geared towards new and returning campers, focusing on the human-animal relationship as well as how to safely handle and care for companion animals.  Animal Heros Camp is for returning campers and features more in-depth education about animal welfare and also behavior, giving kids a golden opportunity to try their hand at training.  Both involve plenty of experience handling a variety of companion animals and learning from the animal experts.  Plus it's summer camp, with plenty of human friends to be made as well as snack time, handicrafts and other fun projects.
