View from the Shard, opened in 2013, is one of the newest attraction in London.
Allowing visitors and weekend tourists to see London at the highest point is a great way to spend the afternoon and check out the sunrise.
At 1,016 feet tall, the building includes offices, international restaurants, exclusive residence and the five-star, luxury Shangri-La Hotel.
Before entering the elevators leading up to the top, visitors are instructed to walk through security. Then, a photographer captures your photograph, a tourist trap. Employees escort guests to the first elevator. At floor 33, guests leave the elevator and walked in a half moon circle to enter another elevator to exit at floor 68. Other tourist traps include buying a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates to consume during the walk around the highest floor.
Guests can climb the last flight of stairs to floor 72, feeling the wind and altitude at this height. Since its opening, the observation deck has evolved into a popular place for proposals.
