On the way back home to the U.S after an almost 3 weeks vacation at Pakistan (my country of birth), my kids and I had the opportunity to take a tour of the city of Dubai. In the limited time we had, we were lucky to do some sightseeing of one of the most popular tourist attraction in the Middle East region.
As compared to when we visited the city in May 2010, this was a much better time to visit since the weather was really pleasant, averaging around 25 Celsius. In order to avoid the hot and humid weather, it is recommended to make travel plans between January and March. No wonder the city was bustling with a ton of tourists when we were there.
Although, we were able to get around the city and saw some very interesting examples of art and architecture but it was really disappointing to have missed the record making new year fireworks held at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building of the world by one day due to travel limitations. Never the less, the structure is an impressive addition to Dubai's amazing sky line and we look forward to going on top whenever we are in Dubai the next time.
