On Sunday Mar 23rd, the Sierra Club will be holding a Spring Equinox Hike at the Highland State Recreation Area. Celebrate the Spring Equinox by walking through the bounty that the season brings. The club invites you to join with them to welcome
"welcoming the return of swans and redwing blackbirds along with Spring's promise of renewal"
Nature and its progressions are what the Pagan Wheel and Cycle embraces. This observance of the return can serve as a sort of free form walk through the lands. This is a fun and woodsy alternative to the more common labyrinth walks that are taking place this time of year. Fresh air and the taste of sunlight are a Divine communion.
The group is to meet at 10:00 am in the Costco Parking Lot in Bloomfield Township. An alternative staging location is at Goose Meadow parking lot at 10:30 am. Afterwards, there will be an informal gathering for food at a to be determined restaurant. This is entirely optional.
As this is a Sierra Club outing open to members and nonmembers, remember that though no fees are charged, entry costs to the park are on the individual. Also, you will be required to sign a standard liability waiver.
