Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort, located on US Highway 50 in El Dorado County, is one of the best ski resorts in the Tahoe area. One of the reasons is their drive to do well by the guests who grace the slopes here.
Sierra has a program for skiers who are 55 or older. It's called Sierra Seniors. If you've hit age 55, you're in. It's that simple.
The program, which started January 8, is on Wednesday mornings and runs through March 19. There's still plenty of days left to enjoy this program. You will be in a select group, which "...allows you to experience all the mountain has to offer while meeting people with the same passion for skiing/riding in the same stages of their life."
Each Wednesday, meet at Mama's Kitchen at 8:30 a.m. You'll be on the mountain by 9:00 a.m., enjoying light coaching and plenty of support by others in the Sierra Seniors group. By noon, group time is over.
After lunch, the rest of the day is up to you. Ski, board, relax, enjoy. Put to use what you learned in the morning.
What will it cost you? You'll need a season pass or a lift ticket. The group experience is either $200, which covers you till March 19, or $30 per day on a drop in basis.
If you need more information, call 530.659.7453 x150. It's a great way to find new skiing and boarding friends, in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
