Sierra-at-Tahoe hosts first Tanner Hall Invitational

Steven Hemphill, PR Director at Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort, said today that they are excited to announce that the first ever Tanner Hall Invitational will take place at Sierra on March 30.

Hall, who was a driving force in the early freeskiing movement, has invited 15 of the best skiers in the world to compete in the event. Hall is the holder of quite a few Winter X Games gold medals for slopestyle and superpipe. He is one of the best.

Sierra and Snow Park Technologies will build a unique feature that incorporates a hip and quarterpipe. Featuring a jam format, the athletes themselves will be the judges.

Snow Park Technologies is billed as the worlds leading consulting team for special project on snow. In short, they build awe inspiring terrain features.

For an hour and fifteen minutes, the hip portion jam session will be running full blast. Follow that by a quarterpipe of the same time frame, and the excitement and spectacle will be hard to beat.

Hemphill says that the cash purse is at a minimum $10,000. Competition should be extraordinary.

Some of the world class skiers making their way to Sierra are Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Sammy Carlson, Torin Yater-Wallace, Mike Hornbeck, Joffrey Pollet-Villard, and Duncan Adams. Hemphill says more on the way.

The entire event will be televised on www.inspiredmedia.tv and www.tannerhall.com.

Sierra is had been recognized by TansWorld Snowboarding as one or the top ten terrain parks. They are always on the leading edge of resort development and amenities. The Tanner Hall event will certainly add to their already elevated reputation.
