Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group (SCNWG) and the West Boca Raton Community High School culinary department will be hosting the 2nd Annual Let Food Be Thy Medicine Wellness Exhibition and Dinner Gala. The event will be held on Saturday, September 28th, at West Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, FL.
The two-part event features a day event, which includes a wellness exhibition, health fair, raffles, yoga, art, massage therapy, and live music from artists like Karina Sky and Steve Grant. The night event will be a dinner gala that will consist of a full-course vegan meal, live poetry, and music. The end of the night will feature a raffle where you can have the chance to win a BMW and other great prizes. “I’m very excited to share SCNWG ‘Let Food Be Thy Medicine’ Gala Dinner with so many people who are like minded and passionate about real change” said Kathy Brown.
The family friendly event will raise awareness of sickle-cell anemia. Sickle-cell is an inherited blood disease, many people with it suffer intense pain and the average life expectancy is around 40 years old. T.J Brown founded the non-profit Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group in 2010. Brown is a survivor of sickle-cell anemia and has found a way to manage his illness by changing his lifestyle. Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group was started to educate people on importance of being healthy and about sickle-cell anemia.
Tickets for the dinner gala are $50 and an all-inclusive ticket to the whole events is $70. To purchase tickets, to donate to SCNWG, or for more information please contact sccantstopme@gmail,com or 561-929-4454.
