If your fans of Si Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” and country music singer Kix Brooks, from Brooks and Dunn, then you’re in for a treat. Si and Kix got together to do a special song for an EP titled, “Me and My Smoking Hot Honey.”
Yes, the unlikely pair teamed up as a surprise for Si’s wife, Christine. After being married 43 years by the justice of the peace in 1971, Si and his wife renewed their wedding vows May 5, 2014. According to AL, when Christine and Si walked down the aisle to the reception, Kix Brooks appeared on a screen. He had a special message for the couple. When he finished speaking, the song that he and Si did together, “Can’t Take the Swamp Outta the Man” started to play.
The wedding is not going to be on any episodes of "Duck Dynasty" because they wanted to keep it a private affair. However, they wanted the fans to feel like they were part of the special day. This is why they decided to release the EP of their wedding songs.
Ashley, the sister to Willie’s wife, Korie, and her songwriting partner wrote the lyrics to the songs on the EP. Kix is Christine’s favorite singer. So Ashley and her husband pulled some strings to have Kix agree to do the song with Si.
The EP consists of six songs available on iTunes. They are a collection of songs made and recorded especially for Si and Christine’s marriage vows renewal. The songs are done by family members and friends. Along with the song done by Si and Kix, the other songs on the EP are:
“How Much I Love You,” by Jessica Andrews
“Would You Marry Me Again,” Marsha Robertson and Jay Nelson
“His and Hers,” by Ally Moore, Macy Jae and Koloff
“Faith, Hope and Love,” by Zach Harris
The last song on the EP is another song with Si Robertson, but this time the Mauldine Brothers join him, as they sing, “If You Can’t Dig That.”
