Shy, frightened dog has been at Kentucky shelter for over two years

For over two years, Rusty, an Anatolian Shepherd/Beagle Mix, has called the Menifee County Animal Shelter in Frenchburg, Ky., "home."

Rusty is a special boy, with special needs - unfortunately, he is not the type of dog which typical adopters seek out.

Rusty is painfully shy - so much so that he fears interaction with most everyone, and everything. Despite his fear, he is not aggressive, but he does require the love and attention of a patient individual who is willing to work with his debilitating shyness.

In February 2012, Rusty was brought to the shelter by his owner, who could no longer care for him - since that time, he has been waiting to once again, be someone's treasured companion.

According to the facility, Rusty is well-trained and shows no signs of aggression - they would love to see him go to an experienced rescuer who is willing and able to work with him to overcome his shyness.

Please take a moment to network Rusty's information - he has waited long enough to finally go home.

Feel free to email or call the shelter at 606 768-9368 with any questions or concerns.
