Small and powerful are usually two words that don't describe gaming computers, however today Oct. 21, 2013 Shuttle announced two new mini PC's with the lastest fourth-generation Intel processors that'll cover even your most demanding home gaming theater's needs: The SZ87R6 and SH87R6.
The R6 Series computers "will make your movies, 3D entertainment and gaming programs soar," said Shuttle's director of sales and marketing Marty Lash in a prepared statement we received via email. “When you want the latest and greatest, you should turn to our new R6 computers.”
Both R6 Series computers support the new Intel Haswell Processor and feature a new Intel HD Graphics core that "doubles the performance of previous generation Intel graphics for faster 3D rendering, more complex shading, and fluid character motion."
With HDMI and DVI-I connectors that can support two different displays and a built in 7.1 channel audio, the R6 Computers make an excellent addition to your living room's big screen and surround sound system. Just boot up your favorite Steam game in big picture mode.
The Shuttle SZ87R6 (currently available) supports a 500w power supply, with dual LAN ports for better connection and "allows users to overclock (speed up the processor) for a customized experience." The Shuttle SH87R6 is due this December, and features 300w of power with one LAN port.
