Shurmur likely to come back to the Eagles as offensive coordinator

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to hire former Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur.

Shurmur is expected to be the offensive coordinator on Chip Kelly's coaching staff. Shurmur's offensive style does not match Kelly's offensive style.

Kelly will be calling the shots in Philadelphia, but wants to keep his uptempo offense. That is something that Shurmur is not used to calling, as he has been very limited in his creativity as the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator and Browns head coach in the past four years.

These two have no previous connection, but has 10 years experience of coaching with the Eagles. He was the Eagles tight ends coach from 1999 to 2001, then was promoted to quarterbacks coach from 2002 to 2008.

Prior to being with the Eagles, he was the Stanford offensive line coach in 1998. And was the Michigan State tight ends coach from 1990 to 1997.
