Good morning my lovely Los Angelenos. As the overcast sky welcomes us into the glorious month of October, and the festivities that will encompass one of my personal favorite holidays, there is no better time to update you on the fun happenings this weekend, than before the sun breaks through the clouds.
As everyone knows, one of the key components to a beautiful life, let alone gorgeous appearance, is taking time out for yourself, and enjoying the little things. If you love horror movies of all caliber, then October in Los Angeles, is the best time of the year for you. You might be asking yourself why? Well, Halloween, of course, as many festivals abound around town, throughout the entire month of October. You lucky little devil.
I've been covering Shriekfest as press, *cough* horror lover, for, well honey let's try not to date myself in this. However, it's been over 6 years. At this point I've lost count how many long it has been that I've been working press. That being said, what I haven't forgotten are the fun times I've enjoyed each year with old friends, and new alike often leaving me feeling so fresh and worry free. Festival runner Denise Gossett continues to put on a great festival that plants you directly in touch with filmmakers and festival runners, as well as press.
In 2011 I had the pleasure of seeing "Isle Of Dogs" Directed by the talented Tammi Sutton. Link to the "Isle of Dogs" IMDB here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1588362/ This is how close knit the community at Shriekfest is, not only did I get to see the movie, I was able to meet and make friends with the very strong and wonderful lady herself, Tammi Sutton. IMDB link here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0840412/ Along with the ability to root for my favorite candidates in the festival. There really are too many people to name that I've met over the years, so I'll stop at the wonderful Tammi.
Thus, I've no doubt that this year will be just as fun as years past. I highly recommend you check Shriekfest out, as it is held on one of my favorite studio lots in Hollywood, the Raleigh Studio lot. A place that has so much history. A place that I've had the pleasure of working for many production companies on.
