There's plenty of riding to do this weekend, and the weather is going to cooperate for all of the rides and events around the Shreveport/Bossier area. Whether you choose to take a ride around Lake Bistineau, a short jaunt south to Alexandria perhaps, or attend one, or all, of three events in town, you'll have sunshine and warm fall weather to greet you.
The annual US Marine Corps sponsored Toys for Tots will be held Saturday morning. The ride starts at Teleperformance, 5800 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport. Riders will begin lining up at 10:15 and ride at 11 am. The ride will end at the Bossier City Harley-Davidson dealership, 2225 Autoplex Drive in Bossier City. At the dealership, there will be free burgers and beverages. Entry fee is the donation of a new, unwrapped gift.
Just down the road at Scot's All American Cycles, 2113 Benton Road, riders will have an opportunity to experience “A taste of Louisiana” as cooks garner their skills and prepare delectable dishes for sampling in an annual cook-off. For participants, set up time is 9 am, start time is 10 am and judging is at 2 pm. Cost is just $5 for sampling, and all donations will support the River Cities Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA).
To round out the day, a fundraiser to support Ronald McDonald House will be held at Baby Huey's, 1709 Sligo Road, Bossier City, on Saturday, Oct 26. Sponsored by the Voodoo Crew, the event will take place from 2-8 pm. There will be hamburger and sausage plates available for sale. A costume contest will be held; entry fee $10; 50/50 tickets and collection of can tabs and donations will also be accepted. The costume contest and 50/50 drawing will be held at 7 pm. Music will be provided by "Bourbon Alley". Additionally, "Seven Deadly Sins" will perform during the after party sponsored by Baby Huey's.
